Barbed wire is the easiest to spot in a range of modern deterrents drawing lines into what space people can inhabit. In a country where public space is increasingly becoming privatized it is important to look at how our world is being designed. Specifically, what spaces are available for the public, and if they are not, how they are designed to deter. It is in understanding the purpose of an action that you can learn what its intent is in our public space, regardless of how it looks

Reeds is made of two parts: spiked candles and a candle holder. This sculpture invites the viewer to ask questions about the space they inhabit and how they interact with the natural world. Reflecting on people's intimate relationship with light inside our homes, This Work Brings the outside in, letting thorns grow from the candles.
